Tikahera black pearl farm produces quality over quantity. For this, we are lucky to have an exceptionally good site for the production of black pearls. As good soil is required to obtain a complex wine, our location provides us with an exceptional palette of pearl shades and colours.
All the grafters (the technicians who seed the oysters) who have worked with us agree: they are proud to display the results they have obtained at Tikahera to prospective clients. Moreover, this company’s family way of functioning makes everyone involved in the production invested in the results.
Even though others would argue that the minimum thickness of 0.8 mm of pearl coating could probably be obtained in a shorter time, we are more patient and leave the grafted oysters in the water for 18 months before harvesting them.
All pearls that will be sold overseas have to be x-rayed by the Perliculture Service of Tahiti to make sure there is a sufficient nacre covering.
